Guy Smith-Bingham aiming to retain title
[by Editor - 1 Dec 2003]

Guy Smith-Bingham and Harry Foster are seeded to meet in the Final of the 2003 Lacoste sponsored Amateur Singles

Guy Smith-Bingham is seeded to retain his Amateur Singles Title at Queens Club this week. Seeded 1 he should meet Harry Foster winner of the Invitation Singles in the final.

His only test would appear to be a semi final against the winner of the quarter final between Alex Titchener-Barret and John Prenn. Prenn would be the favourite to win that encounter if he stays fit,but he is carrying a hamstring injury.

Guy beat Alex in the Invitation 3/1 15/10,15/5,3/15,17/15 and would seem likely to repeat that result.

Foster faces a sterner task with a probable semi final against the winner of a quarter between Rupert Owen-Browne and Tim Cockroft, both on their day capable of testing and beating the best.
