Eton sweep Marlborough, away.
[by Dm - 13 Oct 2004]
Marlborough,at home,lost all 4 matches to a confident Eton
performance.
Marlborough's first pairof Ed Atkin and
Ed Kilbee, were unable to take advantage of playing on their home
court when they lost in four straight games to Etonians Ted
Molson and Freddie Burgess.
The Marlborough pair,who were fresh?
from 1st XV Rugby practice were not given a chance to settle by a
rampant Eton pair and lost 8/15,0/15,6/15,0/15. The Eton second
Pair of Will Hopton and James Rowland Clark had a closer tussle
with Sam Barclay and George Adair. After winning the first game
to 5 they were 11/13 down in the second game but having levelled
the scores at 13/13 were the more determined in the set to 5 and
won the game 17/15 and then took the final game for the loss of
only 2 points; the final score being 15/5,17/15,15/2 to Eton.
