Boone aims for triple crown

Willie Boone is top seed in the Over 40s Singles and Doubles and Over 50s Doubles in the Masters Championships at Queens Club over the weekend of the 16-17th October.

Willie Boone is seeded to meet Tonbridge School professional David Makey in the final of the over 40s singles at Queens Club on Sunday the 17th at 10am. Boone is likely to face Julian Snow in the semi finals. Snow,winner of the Public Schools Singles and Doubles in 1982 is making a welcome return to the rackets courts after an interval of 10 years.

In the other half of the draw, Makey will meet former World Champion Howard Angus now the Professional at Queens. In the doubles Boone teams up with Makey and if they beat John Spurling and Chris Worlidge are likely to meet the winner of the match between Angus playing with Richard Compton-Burnett and Peter Mallinson and Willie Maltby,in the final.

The over 50s final should see Boone, playing with Aidan MacEchern, who have won this title on both occasions they have contested it, face Angus who is playing with David Norman.In the over 60s Doubles Norman teams up with Andrew Beeson and should face Angus playing with David Watkins.
