Etons Harry Franks and Matt Readman beat favourites Dan Hall and
Nick Abendanon of Cheltenham to claim the Public Schools
Championship at Queens Club.
Cheltenham Colleges first pair,unbeaten in
Schools matches this season, fell at the last hurdle in the Public
Schools Championships at Queens Club. Harry Franks and Matt Readman
of Eton beat the Cheltonians 18/14 in the seventh game of one of the
most exciting finals of recent years. Dan Hall and Nick Abendanon,
both schoolboy Rugby internationals, had fought back from 1/3 down
to level the match at three games all, before just failing at the
last fence.
