Rackets Golf Day Winners Joey Worlidge Lachie Deuchar Simon Davies Chris Worlidge Tim and Charlotte Cockroft organised another superb outing for golf playing Rackets players at the Berkshire Golf Club. Their organisational expertise even extended to arranging a perfect autumn day after four days of almost non stop rain. The aim of the day is to raise funds to enable young players to continue to play after leaving school. 80 players both past and present,including former World Champions James Male, John Prenn,Willie Boone and the current holder Harry Foster took part. The winning team were captained by Simon Davis and comprised Chris and Joey Worlidge and Lachie Deuchar,who is better known as a Real Tennis Champion. They won,with 88 points, after a count back on the last 9 holes, from Willie Maltby,Simon Kverndal,Richard Compton-Burnett and the Editor. A delicious lunch with plenty of wine (a well known Garrick Club bon viveur was heard to remark of the wine that it would be suitable only for his gardener's Christmas box), was followed by a raffle and auction which brought a highly successful day, to a financially rewarding conclusion.
