Harry Foster and Mark Hue Williams, seen here with Jesters President David Vaughan, are warm favourites to retain their Amateur Doubles title. The Jesters are very generously supporting this competition for the second season. Seeded one Harry and Mark will want to win emphatically to put down a marker for their World Doubles Challenge in April.The only possible doubt may be about the form of Hue Williams who has not played in a competition since the Open Doubles last season in which he and Foster were beaten in the semi finals by Smith and Hubbard, challengers for the World Doubles 15/7,7/15,2/15,4/15,15/10,18/16,18/14. The bottom half of the draw promises to have the most interesting match before the final with the prospective semi final match between the second seeded pair of Tim Cockroft and Charlie Danby and the third seeds James Beaumont and Michael Brooks. Foster and Hue Williams are seeded to play Mark Farmiloe and Richard Spender in their semi final.
